Description
Coming back down an arduous trek at 5,200m in the Peruvian Andes, I couldn't help but be struck by the dedication these women had with their horses, carrying people and luggage up and down very high altitudes every day. I've seen donkeys being used to carry people around Greek islands, but there was something spectacular and almost heartbreaking to see these horses and their owners working so hard to carry tourists who didn't want to, or couldn't walk. I found this, along with the striking mountains, made for my favourite image of my Peru trip.
