Description
During the darkest days of lockdown, I decided to play with light. This single long exposure self portrait was created in complete darkness while wearing a sequin suit. I had to keep my body perfectly still while using one arm to sweep a handheld light brush around my head and torso, visualizing the swirl of light as a relentless virus trying to invade my body. It took hours of trial and error to balance the frantic motion against the sequin reflections. I left only my ear exposed as a subtle nod to former Brixton resident Vincent van Gogh.
