Whilst everybody else was zooming in on the Sun during the eclipse, I was busy taking a dog portrait with the Sun just a tiny speck in my frame. Partially because I’m a dog photographer and that’s what I’m most interested in photographing, and partially because if I had zoomed in close on the Sun without a specialist protective filter, which I did not have, I would risk damaging my camera sensor, which would mean no more dog portraits, and we don’t want that! As the light went eerily dusk, I photographed my little Chihuahua Lily as she danced in the weird dusk… Not complete darkness, but just dull, like somebody dimmed the lights, and not like just before sunset because the Sun was higher in the sky. Certainly a unique experience, and a photograph I will never be able to take like this again! Settings: 1/200s, f/22 ISO 64
