Description
This sighting of a polar bear mother and her COYS (cubs of the year) on the iceberg lasted almost two hours. Once we knew they were settled and relaxed, I was very focused on ensuring I captured moments of intimacy with the mother and cubs. Cubs this young are so innocent and vulnerable so when they interact you can’t help but feel emotional and protective. I wanted to capture images that any viewer would feel that same emotion and have an insight into their world on the ice, such as this one. This was a once in a lifetime sighting and I don't think I stopped smiling throughout the whole interaction with this polar bear family.
