I wanted to create an image that felt joyful, colourful and slightly cinematic — somewhere between a vintage fashion editorial and a playful countryside story. The apple tree provided a wonderfully unexpected backdrop for fashion photography, allowing the natural environment to become part of the visual narrative. Colour was particularly important to me. The intense yellow of the dress immediately draws the eye to the subject, while the green apples and foliage create a strong natural contrast. The red accessories and colourful patterned jacket add another layer of visual energy and give the image a distinctive retro character. I also wanted to capture a sense of movement. The falling apples break the stillness of a traditional portrait and make the viewer wonder what has just happened — or what is about to happen. That small moment of uncertainty is intentional. For me, the photograph is about confidence, colour and having fun with fashion. I wanted the subject to look completely at home in her surroundings while still feeling larger than life — as though a fashion editorial had suddenly appeared in the middle of an ordinary apple orchard.
