Description
Taken at the Hitchin Soapbox Derby, Defying Gravity captures the split second a homemade racer leaves the ramp and becomes completely airborne, with the crowd watching from either side of the course. The image is part of my ongoing documentation of the town, where creativity, competition and community come together. I wanted to freeze a moment that captures both the spectacle of the derby and the anticipation of a crowd waiting to see what happens next.
